Chronic fatigue is a common but often overlooked symptom in diabetic patients. High blood sugar levels, insulin resistance, and inflammation can disrupt the body’s energy balance, leading to persistent feelings of exhaustion. Additionally, fluctuations in glucose levels throughout the day can create energy crashes, especially when blood sugar spikes are followed by rapid drops. Poor sleep quality, common in diabetes due to complications like sleep apnea or neuropathy, further exacerbates fatigue. Managing blood glucose levels, maintaining a healthy diet, and addressing sleep issues are essential strategies for reducing fatigue in diabetes patients, improving both quality of life and overall health.
