Hormonal Imbalances in Diabetes

Diabetes induces various hormonal imbalances, primarily involving insulin, glucagon, and other hormones regulating glucose metabolism. Insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes leads to elevated levels of insulin, while inadequate insulin production in type 1 diabetes results in low levels. These imbalances contribute to hyperglycemia and can affect hormones such as cortisol and growth hormone, further complicating metabolic control. Additionally, hormonal disruptions can influence appetite, stress response, and fat distribution in the body. Effective diabetes management requires addressing these hormonal imbalances through lifestyle modifications and pharmacological interventions.
