Risk Factors and Symptoms of Diabetes

Diabetes is a persistent medical condition in which blood sugar levels remain higher than normal over time. The primary risk factors include genetics, obesity, poor diet, and a sedentary lifestyle. Age also plays a role, with people over 45 being more susceptible. Additionally, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and a family history of diabetes further elevate the risk.

Common symptoms include frequent urination, excessive thirst, unexplained weight loss, and fatigue. Blurred vision, slow-healing wounds, and recurrent infections are also indicative. Early detection and management are crucial to avoid complications like heart disease, nerve damage, and kidney failure. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, regular monitoring, and medical intervention can help control diabetes and its impact.
