Biography:
Matthew Helou is a current fourth-year medical student at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWB) in the metro Detroit area of Michigan. Born to parents who are from Syria and France, he is a first-generation American, first-generation college student, and soon-to-be the first ever medical physician in his family. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University at Buffalo. Both personally and professionally, Matthew is passionate about exercise and physical activity. He is planning on training in Orthopaedic Surgery. His research interests include joint arthroplasty, resistance training, and type 2 diabetes.
