Biography:
Nawris Alhassan is a nurse based in the United States with clinical experience in surgical-trauma, step-down ICU, and maternal–newborn nursing. She currently volunteers as a triage nurse at a free health clinic, where she has observed significant gaps in care for older adults with diabetes. These experiences inspired her research on the risk of cognitive impairment in adults aged 60 and older treated with SGLT-2 inhibitors versus DPP-4 inhibitors. She finds healthcare deeply rewarding and plans to pursue further medical training with a focus on clinical research and advancing community health equity.
