Diabetes is regarded as one of the most serious risks to human health in the twenty-first century. Diabetes is a metabolic condition or a long-term condition in which blood sugar levels are too high. Diabetes is linked to a wide range of long-term complications, including blindness, heart and blood vessel disease, stroke, kidney failure, amputations, and nerve damage, to name a few. Prediabetes is a condition in which the blood sugar level is greater than normal. Although the level is not yet high enough to be classified as type 2 diabetes, people and children with prediabetes are more likely to acquire type 2 diabetes if they do not make lifestyle changes.
