Prediabetes

Prediabetes is a crucial health condition characterized by higher-than-normal blood sugar levels, but not high enough to be classified as type 2 diabetes. It serves as a warning sign that the body is beginning to resist insulin, the hormone responsible for regulating blood glucose. Factors contributing to prediabetes include obesity, sedentary lifestyle, and a family history of diabetes.

Individuals with prediabetes often experience no noticeable symptoms, making regular screening essential. If left unmanaged, prediabetes can progress to type 2 diabetes, leading to serious health complications such as heart disease, nerve damage, and kidney problems. However, lifestyle changes like adopting a balanced diet, increasing physical activity, and maintaining a healthy weight can significantly reverse prediabetes and lower the risk of developing diabetes. Early intervention is key to preventing further health issues and promoting long-term wellness.
